ROMAN LONDON

Londinium established by the Romans in 43AD. They stayed for nearly 400 years establishing a city which now lies beneath our feet. Boudica, the original feminist, made a valiant but failed attempt to stop the Romans. As new buildings are erected archaeologists continually discover more of our past. This Meander explores the remains of the original London; see where the Thames was bridged, trace the steps of the wall, hear how our ancestors conducted their daily lives.  Walk with the gladiators in the magnificent recently discovered amphitheatre. See where the Forum, Basilica, Baths. Temples etc. were situated.
