DOCKLANDS

From the Tower to Limehouse, breaking for lunch at one of the pubs in Wapping High Street with magnificent views across the Thames. Travel back via the DLR (travel cards valid) for a bird's eye view of the area through which we will have walked.
The walk will include a portion of the Roman wall, Tower Hill - execution site of thousands, the Tower - fortress and prison, St Katherine's Dock, Tobacco Dock, Shadwell Basin, Execution Dock, Narrow St. Which churchyard was the final resting place of 72 sea captains? Where is the oldest police force? Where was Judge Jeffreys arrested? Where is the Devil's Tavern?
